Our Process on Spammers
« on: June 09, 2010, 07:06:13 AM »
The forum is designed to track spammers and you need to validate your email address to post on the discussion groups. Eventually we might go to a manual approval process as well but right now we are sticking with the approval process.  This allows us to report spam to the email address provider that is used like gmail or yahoo who are very responsive to shutting off the free accounts  ;D

We also track the IP addresses to report the spamming behaviour to the provider. Normally a spammer will get one chance to spam from what we have noticed and they go to set up a bot *automated Black Hat program that will spam forums automatically at certain times of the day. Our banned system takes care of that issue and tracks the bot activity to report as well. Sometimes people use IP maskers and that is fine because we provide times as well so the provider can use the information to trace the action and shut down that ability in the future as well as work with the originating provider to shut down the accounts.

My advice to spammers is find a forum that is not as monitored as this one and to say that the amount of work you are doing to have one temporary post that is deleted within hours and to have the followup as well seems to be more of a waste of time taking all that time for nothing. True there are automated bots that create accounts and will do this but the free sites as well are getting smarter as well.
