Your body is designed
to protect you from yourself at times. If you deprive your body from
fuel your body will slow down your metabolism to prevent you from
starving and using up your stored fuel.
Your body also will
store fuel if you do not know how to feed it correctly. This means that
all of your dieting and calorie restriction can actually work against
you in the long run.
You need fuel for your
body to burn to live. The type of fuel is dependant on you. If you fail
to provide the fuel the body needs then it harvests it from what you
already have. This means that if your body needs protein it will start
to sacrifice your muscle to get it. If you loose muscle mass you loose
your ability to burn calories. This means that over time you could still
be eating the same and you will start to gain weight because your body
has lost muscle mass and now you are gaining more fat.
Your body is more like
a parent than you might think. If you have deprived it over time of fuel
it might take a few weeks even a month or two before your body accepts
that you are going to treat it right. After proving you can treat your
body correctly it will let go of all those reserves that it has been
keeping. It will also allow you to keep your metabolism at its peak to
burn more calories as well. This means you feel better and lose those
old cravings and habits that you once had.

have listened to thousands of people tell me they enjoy eating
so that is their challenge. Most people enjoy eating but most
people do not pay attention to what, why, when and where they
eat. The why is always a big one I have found over the years.
Boredom, emotions, social events or just to reward yourself by
punishing yourself later are some reasons I have seen. I have
met people that eat to have something to complain about later
because they have eaten too much. Some people have actually
believed that overeating is a disease and they have no control
over it. You can thank years of imprinting by friends and family
at times.
